1. Who we are
Hampshire Business Events ("we", "us") runs the events app at app.hampshire.events and the guide at hampshire.events, a calendar, map and directory of business events in Hampshire. You can contact us at [email protected].
By creating an account, booking a place, listing an event, managing a venue or using any part of the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Give accurate details, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- If you use the app for a business, organisation or venue, you confirm you are allowed to act for it.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misleads people, or is used to post content we are lawfully asked to remove. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first.
3. Listing events
- When you list an event you confirm that you have the right to publish its details, that they are accurate and kept up to date, and that it is a genuine event open to the audience you describe.
- New listings may be reviewed before they appear. We are not obliged to publish a listing, and we may edit it for formatting, correct obvious errors, or unpublish it if it breaks these terms or is no longer accurate.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show it in the app, on hampshire.events, in calendar and data feeds, in embeds on other websites, in emails, and on the pages of the venues and organisers involved.
- If you change an event's date or time, or cancel it, you are responsible for treating the people booked on it fairly. The app tells them about changes we can see, but that does not replace your own obligations to them.
4. Booking a place
- A booking, ticket or place on a waitlist is an arrangement between you and the organiser running the event, not with us. We pass your name, email and booking details to that organiser so they can run the event.
- Paid tickets are taken by Stripe on the organiser's behalf. Prices, what is included, and refunds are set by the organiser; ask them first about a refund. Where we can help put things right we will.
- Some events need the organiser's approval or have limited places. A request or a waitlist place is not a confirmed booking until the app says so.
- Please cancel through the app if you can no longer go, so your place can go to someone else.
- Event details come from organisers. We do our best to keep them accurate but cannot guarantee them; check with the organiser before you travel.
5. Venues and room hire
- Venue details, including arrival guides (parking, transport, access), come from venues, organisers and public sources. They are a guide only; check anything important with the venue.
- A request to claim a venue or organisation listed on the app is checked before access is given. You must only claim one you are entitled to manage.
- A room-hire enquiry or booking is an arrangement between the hirer and the venue. Payments for hire are taken by Stripe for the venue.
6. Fair use
You must not use the app to post anything unlawful, misleading, defamatory or offensive; to send spam or unsolicited marketing to people you meet through it; to copy or scrape the app or its data except through the feeds and exports we provide for that purpose; to interfere with its security or running; or to pretend to be someone else.
7. Feeds and embeds
Feeds, embeds and data exports let you show listings on your own website. You may use them as provided, keep the information accurate and unaltered in meaning, and remove them if we ask. We may change or withdraw a feed, and features or prices for feeds may change; we will give notice of any change to charges.
8. Charges
Some features may be charged for now or in future. We will always tell you the price before you are asked to pay, and you will not be charged without agreeing first.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app running and accurate, but it is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or change. We may update these terms; if a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are not responsible for events, venues or organisers themselves, or for what happens at an event. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or business losses (such as lost profits or opportunities) arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings where you live.
